Plastique is a hard hitting rock kit with tone and punch for miles. This kit will drive a classic rock track with authority and add flavour to fusion and pop pieces.

The kit itself is a vintage 1970s Ludwig Vistalite in Bonhamesque configuration and tuning, including two vintage Ludwig Supraphonic snares and Paiste 2002 cymbals. The kit was sampled in a big room with plenty of character imparting an expansive sound on these samples. As usual we've used nothing but the finest gear to capture the kit, including Neumann mics, a vintage Neve desk, API and Chandler preamps and a roll of 2" tape.

Sonic references: Led Zeppelin, John Bonham, Them Crooked Vultures, The Dead Weather, The Raconteurs, The Secret Machines, Thunder

Round robin: each velocity layer contains 6 round-robin samples, played randomly to ensure realistic performances.

Multi-sampling: each key contains up to 8 velocity layers for expressive detail. Hihats are extensively sampled for convincing realism with 7 articulations (tip, tight, closed, loose, semi-open, open, pedaled).

Kontakt instrument interface: with separate volume and panning controls for individual drums, overhead mics, and room mics.

Sensitivity control: increase the sensitivity of the kit for more subtle performances or leave it set to full dynamic range for rock and heavier numbers.

Presets: for quickly dialing up sounds.

Drums of War 2 is the newest member to the cinesamples percussion family, and its parents are beaming. Following in the scope of the original Drums of War this new volume takes a different approach to achieving massive-percussive impact. Whereas the paramount concept of DOW 1 was recording huge orchestral drums in a huge space this time we used specific instrumentation/production techniques to achieve our result. DOW 2 contains entirely new sample content and entirely new instruments – those which we have never sampled before. The foundation of this library being the mighty taikos.

The hallmark of this library lies within the recordings. DOW 2 utilizes a combination close/stage mix with wonderfully rich character – a driving, powerful tone. If you could use one word to describe this sound it would most certainly be “tight”. But the real magic lies in whats going on in the stereo field. DOW 2 uses double, triple, and quadruple tracking – mapped down to one sample and therefore one key – allowing you to trigger this labor intensive studio-process which a single keystroke. Aside from being an ultimate timesaver, its also like having a renowned professional percussionist and mixer sitting in on your track. Each sample contains that delightful mini-flamming (without phasing) from the percussionist and that ultra-balanced wide panorama from the mixer. If you like to construct your own layers we’ve made the solo patches available too.

All DOW 2 percussion was sampled in 24/48 with the best gear, in a fantastic Los Angeles studio, by one of Hollywood’s most in-demand percussionists. Everything recorded with 10xRR and up to 10 velocity layers.

Everybody keeps on sampling the best and cleanest piano ever! here is a completely different approach. We sampled an old Pleyel Grand Piano (F-71240 model from 1928) with vintage gear like a studer console and tube microphones, it has the rich and warm sound of the old jazz/blues or even classical music recordings.

General panel:
Here you can change most of the basic parameters of the library, the volume of the releases, the noise the keys produce, the amount of sympathetic resonance, the volume of the pedal noises, you can also change the tone and enable the "true pedal action" (a feature that we introduced that allows the pedal down resonance to fade in when you press the pedal even if the note was started with the pedal up).

Microphone mixing:
We recorded the OldBlackGrand with two pairs of microphones. One was placed inside the piano, close to the strings and the other one outside of it about where a soloist would be placed. You can change the volume and pan of each microphone position as well as play them all together to get the sound that you really want.

Midi panel:
You have two way to adjust this library to your playing style / keyboard.
- The Map is a velocity remapper. You can tweak the imput/output velocity mapping. You can find some presets in the velocity curve menu.
- The sensitivity decides how the volume is changed with velocity.

You can also choose a "min velocity" under which no sustain sound will be played. You will still hear the key noises as on a real piano.
